We so pleased you'd like to drive or bring your coach to Darlington and we can't wait to welcome you all! Whether you're visiting us for an event, to do a bit of shopping or to explore some of our history, there are parking options to suit.
We love welcoming coach trips to the town and you'll find our designated coach parking at Chesnut Street, Darlington, DL1 1QQ.
Coach parking in Chesnut Street is free every day between 8am-6pm and overnight parking costs £4, so you can stay over and make a real trip out of it.
If you are travelling in a large coach (such as 16, 20 and 24 seaters), you may need to straddle two bays. In this instance, you will need two tickets - one per bay.
If you're driving to Darlington, you'll be glad to know that there are a whole host of car parks available throughout the town.
Charges apply Monday to Sunday, and times may differ depending on the street (8am to 6pm or 9am to 5pm). This will be noted on the on street signage
There are on street short stay pay and display parking places in:
Most on street parking places are limited to a maximum of two hours (no return within one hour), except Grange Road and Northumberland Street which are three hours (no return within one hour).
Once you have purchased a ticket, you cannot top up your time, and once your ticket has expired, you must leave the street and not return within one hour. This is to prevent vehicles parking for extended periods of time and to ensure visitors to the town centre have the opportunity to park close to nearby businesses.

As well as on street parking, there are many off street car parks to use. Charges apply to all motorists, including blue badge holders, in council operated car parks. Find a full list of off street parking on the Darlington Borough Council website.
There are short stay and long stay off street car parks surrounding the town centre.
Paybyphone operates in all council off street car parks, except Feethams, and most council car parks are covered by 24 hour CCTV surveillance.
Larger vehicles may use more than one parking space in the off street car parks, where the height restriction permits, provided that payment is made for all the parking spaces used.

There are also private car parks operating in the borough, which are not managed by the council. These include:
