Darlington hits gold in RHS Britain In Bloom 2023

Darlington has been awarded RHS Britain in Bloom 2023 business improvement districts, town centres, city centres’ category winners and gold!

The town has been recognised, once again, for its floral brilliance, having been named category winners and won gold at the annual RHS Britain in Bloom floral awards, beating Harrogate BID, and Romford BID, London.

Following the town's huge success in the 2022 Northumbrian in Bloom awards, where South Park and the town centre scooped golds and Darlington was awarded best overall entry, we were invited to take park in the prestigious RHS Britain in Bloom awards.

Britain in Bloom judges visited in July and have recognised and rewarded the town for outstanding floral displays in the business improvement district, town centre and city centre category, with a gold medal and crowned us category winners.

The town's horticulture, parks, and town centre teams, along with volunteers, including friends of the parks groups, Darlington Cares, Street Champions, and residents and business owners worked together all year round, to make sure the town looked its best.

When the judges visited in July, our parks, town centre and open spaces all looked glorious, which helped us be crowned floral first and awarded gold!
