The Pennyweight

The Pennyweight is a traditional Darlington pub with a wealth of history laid beneath its floors.

Once over it was used as a communal baking shop, where locals in and around Darlington used to bring their home-made pies, cakes and pastries to be cooked in the old cellars of The Pennyweight. 

Sadly the ovens within the cellars are no more, but the bakehouse is still alive, with our food offering the traditional british pub fare booming above.

Today at The Pennyweight, we pride ourselves on hearty traditional food and of course a more than traditional drinks offering for as far as the eye can see.
