Darlington by Sea

Head to Darlington for nine days of sun (hopefully), sea and sand for this ever-popular annual family event.

Darlington by the Sea’s beach-themed event runs from Saturday 18th to Sunday 27th July 2026.

From 11am until 4pm each day, families can enjoy free sandcastle building in a giant sandpit in the market square, face painting, balloon modelling, and lots more fun and games.

Ear defenders Some people find wearing ear defenders useful when visiting events. * There is no music at this event.

Car Parking Information

• There are cycling parking stands surrounding the market square.
• Taxi drivers can drop visitors off at Darlington Market Square.
• Regular trains come to Darlington train station 730m
• Buses travel into the town centre, depending which route your arrive on all bus stops.
• Using map and navigation apps can help plan your route.
