There’s lots on offer this half term to make February fun in Darlington. From secret spies to Nerf Wars and Lego fun, there’s something for everyone to Enjoy in Darlington.
The week starts on a chilly note with Igloo at The Hullabaloo on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 at various times. Suitable for babies and up to three years old, it is a playful theatrical experience. Mad Alice Theatre Company starts half term fun at Crown Street library art gallery with Rose and Robin on Saturday 15 from 2-3pm. Lego fans can drop in to free sessions at both Crown Street and Cockerton libraries on Saturdays, 10am-noon.
The secret’s out – there’s lots to do at Darlington libraries this half term. Most sessions run at 10am-11.30am then 2-3.30pm. Kids can join the Secret Owl Society on Tuesday 18 for storytelling and crafts and Join the Secret Book Club on Wednesday 19 to make a secret book cover. Live performance at the library comes in the shape of Save Odd Sock, on Thursday 20 with puppetry, songs and the chance to make a sock puppet.
Tiny Tins on Friday 21 (9.30-10.15am & 11-11.45am) offers the chance to move around the library in a creative dance and scavenger hunt. Secret Spies on Friday 21 offers the chance to drop in (no need to book) between 1-4pm and make a secret badge and spy gadget.

Head of Steam Museum
Kids are set to takeover the Head of Steam Museum as the Toddler Takeover Day gets underway on Friday 14, 11am-12.30pm and 1.30-3pm, call 01325 405060to book. Love Science – transport workshop - rolls in on Wednesday 19 and Lego fans are in for a treat on Thursday 20 with Lego-themed fun sessions, visit Eventbrite to book. Under 5’s can enjoy Station Scamps 10am-12.30pm and Crafty kids can build a glider 1-3pm on Friday 21.

The Dolphin Centre will be open throughout the half term for swimming, soft play and sports related fun. Science fans will also enjoy the Cool Science sessions on Tuesday 18 between 11.30am-1.30pm. There’s the chance to make some slime and a bath bomb and see dry ice, fire bubbles and tornado demos.

Family theatre helps to bring the half term to a close with Lost Happy Endings on Saturday and Sunday, 22 and 23 at Darlington Hippodrome. BalletLORENT brings a magical tale to life where fairy tale happy endings are under threat. Details and bookings at www.darlingtonhippodrome.co.uk
